Esurance is looking for a highly motivated Sr. UX Designer to join its Customer Experience team to help us create and maintain modern and effortless experiences! The Sr. UX Designer will be an individual contributor who helps the team in defining, designing, and delivering extraordinary UX responsive designs for all products that result in a positive user experience and enhance company brand value. As a Sr. UX Designer, you’ll roll up your sleeves and be responsible for supporting 1 or more agile teams. You’ll have huge influence mentoring budding designers! You’ll inspire product roadmaps and strategy, assist in sustaining the product backlog, and collaborate constantly with internal and external partners including development, product, user research, copywriters, and senior leadership – all in order to provide best-in-class experiences for our customers.

What you will do

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, Creative, and Designers throughout the design process – from creating user flows and wireframes to developing interaction patterns
  • Identify user needs and produce designs based on users’ motivations and behaviors – understand and apply human-centered design strategies
  • Co-create interaction standards and a pattern library to drive innovative design solutions that support customer needs and business objectives
  • Create and support setting standards for high quality UX designs, mockups, wireframes, and prototypes according to release deadlines and sprint schedules
  • Act as the first line of escalation for questions and issues from less experienced team members, resolving most of them independently before involving management
  • Design and lead user research, including usability tests to measure user reaction and use of products
  • Gather and leverage data analysis and insights, market research, and competitive analysis to improve design and functionality of products
  • Constantly grow your ownership and passion for customer-centricity and user-centered design by understanding the latest technologies, trends, and industry standards


Who you are and what you have done


  • 5+ years relevant website/mobile design experience working in fast-paced, user-centered environment related to consumer services
  • Impressive portfolio demonstrating strategic yet elegant customer experiences
  • Extensive background in design, development, and prototype tools – Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Prezi, Keynote, Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Axure, Flinto, UserZoom, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies
  • Keen eye to detail with strong organizational and project management skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
  • Experience working with remote teams across multiple locations
  • Work independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer-focused web/mobile platforms and web analytics
  • Ability to navigate effectively and efficiently through change
  • Fantastic written and verbal communications skills, very comfortable with presenting to all levels of the company. Proven ability to present your logic with clarity and confidence
  • Ruthless truth-seeker skills, collecting data and insights necessary to inform product design
  • Passion for customers and making sure all of their needs (know and unknown) are being met
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, communications, marketing, or related field; Master’s desired
