As the Social Media Associate you will contribute to the design, management and measurement of Esurance social media programs. Additionally, you will manage various types of social media campaigns to help build the Esurance brand and increase awareness, engagement and consideration. You will also represent the department and will work closely with cross functional groups while collaborating with marketing, sponsorship, creative teams, and outside vendors.


  • Assists the Social Media Manager with content development and paid media programs across the full funnel and all social channels
  • Supports all aspects of social media across the Esurance business, including: performance marketing, branded content, community management, sponsorships and advertising
  • Collaborates with integrated marketing communications, creative, sponsorships and direct response teams to develop both brand and sales campaigns
  • Assists with building social media campaign budgets and media plans. Defines and develops success metrics appropriate to campaign goals
  • Applies testing methodologies and analyzes performance for campaign optimization
  • Prepares campaign/project reporting, analyzes results, and delivers finding and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with publishers and vendors
  • Partners with the Customer Service team to deliver best in class social media support and community management
  • Actively uses social media monitoring tools and produces action-oriented insights; evaluates areas for improvement
  • Studies the competition’s use of social media and applies those learnings to our plans and engagement tactics
  • Initiates creative requests and actively participates in creative brainstorming and ideation, facilitating projects from conception to execution.
  • Manages creative reviews to ensure optimization of social communication performance
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Advertising, Sponsorships, Legal, Creative, Business Intelligence, Direct Marketing and Production
  • Participates in cross-functional meetings around messaging architecture, planning and strategy
  • Coordinates meetings and assists in creating presentation materials
  • Participates in events on behalf of the company
  • Some travel required


  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Experience buying online media and managing campaign budgets
  • An established presence on the latest social media platforms and strong knowledge of the ever-changing industry
  • Demonstrated ability to think both creatively and analytically
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with vendors, partners and internal teams within a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently


Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in online marketing, journalism, advertising, communications or a related field and/or equivalent education.
  • Two or more years of B2C social media experience (in-house or agency)
  • Demonstrated track record of managing social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, and other online platforms
  • Experience managing paid media campaigns
  • Experience using the latest social media analytics tools and developing processes for establishing KPIs and measuring results
