In support of the organizations overall financial goals, the Senior Analyst, Actuarial and Marketing Canada is responsible for undertaking the analytical efforts of the department in the development of professional, data-driven recommendations to create, optimize and improve actuarial rating factors, as well as sales and marketing analytics and metrics. Leads the analytical efforts to develop predictive models to assist in targeting marketing, credit scoring, retention and ceding, and profitability.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides support and data analysis needed for Canada including the planning process
  • Performs rate reviews for Canadian provinces & products, including analysis of competitor prices, quantification of indicated price changes, and quantification of rate change impacts on existing and future customers
  • Collaborates with appropriate departments within the company to coordinate pricing proposals
  • Reviews and/or prepares rate filing submissions including all actuarial support
  • Ensures that rate levels are set at agreed upon levels
  • Assists in efforts to improve the segmentation and robustness of the product
  • Works closely with Canada team in the design and implementation of rate changes
  • Provides data analysis support to product management when needed
  • Develops and maintains competitor knowledge base, including staying abreast of competitor rate changes, strategies and profitability
  • Ensures that credit score models satisfy provincial and Canadian federal regulations
  • Leads efforts to improve the segmentation and robustness of the product
  • Manages the process, analysis, timing, deliverables, integration and communication for marketing forecasting, planning, and analytics across multiple channels, campaigns, and product lines.
  • Manages marketing planning tasks across Auto and Home product lines
  • Collaborates with Media, Digital Marketing, Analytics, Sales, Product, and Finance teams to aggregate cross-functional data, track performance metrics, and deliver comprehensive new business forecast on a weekly basis
  • Delivers weekly quote and call forecasts to Sales team, monitors shifts in channel, media and quoter mix and identifies impact on call volume and conversion performance
  • Presents and details research analyses to senior management
  • Pursues professional development in the actuarial profession through rigorous self-study and successful completion of actuarial exams



  • Strong communication skills, people skills, and quantitative skills
  • 2+ years of actuarial analytics experience
  • Working knowledge of VBA and SQL


Experience / Education:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in mathematics, actuarial science, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Canadian P& C personal lines desired
  • Minimum 2 Casualty Actuarial exams required, 3 preferred
