Responsibilities

  • Researches vendor management practices throughout the industry and provides recommendations for possible process/procedure changes.
  • Assists with development of vendor management strategy and works with business leads to create RFP/RFI procedures.
  • Manages the process to onboard vendors for a partnership with Esurance and terminate relations with vendors when their services are no longer the best option for the company
  • Leads the negotiation process with vendors and presents information to senior leadership for a final decision
  • Develops custom reporting targeting vendor performance and cost control opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains mutually beneficial business relationships with vendors.
  • Manage vendor compliants and support the enforcement of SLA’s as needed
  • Partner with the Data and Analytics team to complete cost and spend analysis
  • Work with relationship managers for all vendors and ensure SLA’s are effective and supportive for our business
  • Serves as a consulting partner with Senior Leadership in support of developing effective best practices.
  • Works with business to define roles and responsibilities for associates supporting the vendor network.
  • Ensures project tasks and deliverables assigned to the staff are completed timely and with a high degree of quality.
  • Ensures enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and vendor monitoring are being completed
  • Works with the Training Department in the development of new procedure/process training material.
  • Travels to branches or vendor sites to participate in activities as requested and needed by Senior Management

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and in-depth knowledge of claims related software applications.
  • Experience with managing vendors or working in a support role within a vendor management team 

 

Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field or equivalent education preferred
  • Auto insurance experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience managing a vendor network or in a related sourcing role
  • Prior analysis/report development experience preferred
