Drives the management, planning and delivery of multiple projects affecting one or more business units or functional areas. Ensures projects meet milestones for application development, quality assurance and deployment tasks; deploys major releases to the production environments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Defines project and release scope, develops project plans & deliverables, detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives, change requests and timelines.
  • Functions as a single point of contact for assigned release/project(s) for project staff, management and business unit.
  • Delegates project assignments to project teams or individuals.
  • Owns all project documentation for status, risk management and problem reporting.
  • Conducts project meetings and provides regular reporting to ensure that projects are complete according to schedule and within budget.
  • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.

  • Excellent knowledge of multiple applications, information technology methodologies and related technologies.
  • Proven experience with all components of development lifecycle such as requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies, Windows 2000, C#, Web Services and XML.
  • Ability to build relationship and team building with all levels of employees and management.
  • Must be comfortable briefing senior leadership and coordinating development managers.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a highly technical team.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, follow through, and ability to prioritize quickly are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent tool, and MS Office.
  • Extended experience in Insurance and/or financial service industry highly desirable.

    Experience / Education:
  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent education required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • 7 or more years of Development Management experience with a proven track record of delivering multiple successful projects which includes the development of Internet business systems and 3 or more years of experience with the direct supervision of employees or in a lead role required.
