Esurance is looking for talented trainees for our Sales division. We are seeking professional individuals to develop relationships with potential customers over the phone. You will serve as a trusted advisor by identifying customer needs and matching them with appropriate Esurance products or referring them to Esurance partners. No sales experience? No problem! We offer an extensive training program that will give you the tools you need to be successful in this role. We live by the motto of "Hire Talent, Train Skill."


Job Details: 

  • Start Date: Monday June 4, 2018
  • Training Hours: 9 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday 
  • Training Length (Paid):  8 weeks
  • Training Location: Onsite in Sioux Falls 
  • Work Schedule:  12:30 - 9:00 PM Tuesday - Saturday
  • Salary: $15/hr plus shift differentials and uncapped monthly incentive  
  • Job Location: Onsite in Sioux Falls


  • Takes inbound calls to gather information and close sales on personal lines insurance policies, all while thriving in an environment of changing technology and insurance industry regulations
  • Proactively identifies the need for coverage and offer additional insurance products and services offered by Esurance and/or Esurance business partners to help us build and retain a profitable, multi-line portfolio
  • Builds and deepens customer relationships by providing empathetic, efficient, and responsive service that reflects our brand, and our culture
  • Assists new customers with navigating to complete the sales process
  • Efficiently uses resources to accurately issue policies in compliance with underwriting and state mandated requirements


  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to obtain Personal Lines Insurance License (Esurance provides pre-licensing training)
  • Solid organizational and multitasking skills (This role requires the ability to talk on the phone and work on a computer simultaneously)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior decision making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a changing environment, both independently and as part of a team 

Experience / Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • One or more year’s sales experience
  • Prior Insurance experience, Personal Lines or a Property & Casualty license a plus, but not required

Background Check / Licensing:

As part of the hiring process at Esurance, a pre-employment background check for all new hires will be run which includes employment, education, and criminal verifications.  Additionally, for licensed positions you will be required to obtain and maintain licensure in one or more states which includes fingerprinting and an FBI check which will go back as far as your history allows.  Your ability to obtain and maintain employment will be contingent on your ability to be licensed in all required states.  Failure to obtain and maintain those licenses may affect your employment status.
