    The Claims Casualty Project Manager manages projects for the First Party Medical or PIP & Med Pay Line of business through the various business phases from planning to implementation. Develops project charter, timelines, communications and implementation plans based on feedback from various stakeholders. This role ensures all major milestones are being met. This role may also manage day to day relationships with our vendors as well as have responsibility for certain ongoing  PIP & Med Pay programs.



    • Remains current on all claims compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Researches No Fault claims practices throughout the industry and provide recommendations for required process/procedure or reporting changes.

    • Leads Casualty projects or programs that are national in scope influencing companywide outcomes resulting in significant improvement to efficiency, expense reduction or payment accuracy.
    • Manages project teams consisting of representatives from key stakeholder groups.
    • Writes and develops project charters, work breakdown structures, and communication and implementation plans. Solicits feedback from project stakeholders and updates project documentation as needed.
    • Partners with field management and front line associates to solicit feedback and document areas needing analysis.
    • Evaluates and communicates progress towards achieving milestones, and manages on-time delivery and sign-off of all phases of the business projects.
    • Coordinates and maintains a change management plan for affected associates of the project through implementation, ensuring the communication plan is executed upon.
    • Tracks, evaluates and resolves project risks, issues, change requests and action items throughout the lifecycle of projects. May solicit feedback from project team members or other stakeholders to resolve issues.
    •  Schedules and facilitates project meetings; documents meeting minutes/notes and communicates them to participants. Keeps project team on track.
    • Ensures interdependencies between concurrent projects are accounted for so that projects proceed in a logical and timely manner.
    • Manages day to day vendor relationships and claims programs.






    • Extensive knowledge of state and government regulations that relate to first party medical claims.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple states, Michigan, Florida and New York preferred. 

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and claims related software programs including automated estimate programs required.
    • Able to visually communicate results of complex analyses to non-technical audiences
    • Ability to complete root cause analysis, problem solve and develop plans and best practices.
    • Must be able to travel approximately 20%


    Experience / Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and/or equivalent education required.
    • 7 years First Party Medical claims handling experience with at least 3 years in project management preferred
    • One or more years of experience managing associates in an insurance claims environment preferred.
