As a key member of the Accounting Team, the Sr Mgr Accounting is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures for the accounting department. Under limited direction, the person in this position must be able to oversee and manage the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, develop and implement strategic growth, performance and other action plans to meet strategic goals.
This highly visible role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact on this fast moving team. Personnel management duties require the Sr Mgr Accounting to supervise, coach, and develop the accounting staff, utilizing their strengths to increase their contributions and job satisfaction; keeping them up to date on industry regulations, trends, and general insurance company information; and identifying areas for automation/improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services.
Compliance responsibilities entail ensuring that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and that the procedures are in strict compliance with Esurance policies, federal/state regulations, and GAAP. The Sr Mgr Accounting will also provide leadership and ongoing monitoring, approving, and implementing of projects, programs, and cost control strategies as needed.
