    Responsibilities

    The Dir of Quality Engineering optimizes the productivity of our software engineering teams by starting with instilling a culture of quality first. S/he champions code health, testability, and maintainability, with experience in creating the scalable tools, infrastructure, and processes that accelerate implementing and releasing software on time and on target.

    S/he leverage the latest cloud technologies to establish a foundation for innovation, performance, and scalability.

     

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead a Quality Engineering organization focused on improving developer velocity, scalability, and testability across diverse products and platforms.
    • Provide technical expertise throughout the product life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure.
    • Define the roadmap and create the next generation developer tooling and infrastructure for Esurance, focusing on productivity, testing, and release.
    • Develop and define quality standards and metrics to measure and drive continuous improvements.
    • Drive cross-functional adoption of a quality-first culture that aligns with business priorities and objectives.
    • Design and implement processes that ensure regulatory and IT compliance (PCI, DR and DOI).

     Qualifications:

    • Experience with developing automated test frameworks, increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health, and building developer tools.
    • Programming experience, preferably in Java or Python.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, able to interface with all functions and at all levels within the organization

     

     Experience/Education:

    • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience
    • 10 or more years of experience in the software development lifecycle, from design through implement and production deployment.
