    Responsibilities

    As the Sr. Marketing Research Analyst you are a self-starter who is able to lead complex research projects, undertake primary and secondary research, and act as a trusted research advisor to teams across the organization. You are skilled in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and have experience with research vendors. Additionally, you will plan and perform analytics on market research conducted in partnership with outside creative agency and qualitative and quantitative vendors to aid Esurance marketing strategy.

     

    • Analyzes customer market research, drives customer insight, uncovers market opportunities and helps address critical business issues.
    • Leverages external data gathered through syndicated and primary research and internal Esurance data to develop an understanding of consumer behavior and the competitive landscape of the online auto insurance marketplace.
    • Forecasts business scenarios, including key metrics for strategic shifts; develops appropriate recommendations to ensure best results.
    • Works with research vendors to design and execute qualitative and quantitative studies based on specific business need including developing screeners, discussion guides and questionnaires.
    • Analyzes and interprets qualitative and quantitative research results; presents findings and recommendations in a concise format to key stakeholders.
    • Develops market research database and maintains research data from primary and secondary sources; in conjunction understands Esurance’s existing quoter and policyholder databases.
    • Leads & manages company brand & ad tracking reports
    • Acts as a trusted research advisor to stakeholders across the organization by actively listening, proactively communicating, and ensuring business objectives are correlated to the research.

    Qualifications

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making. Act as a trusted research advisor to stakeholders across the organization by actively listening, proactively communicating, and ensuring business objectives are correlated to the research.
    • Strong relationship management skills with external and internal customers
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to translate analytics to reports.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative solving skills; ability to integrate business knowledge and analytical insight.
    • Develop research strategies correlated to business needs, then lead the execution of primary and secondary research to derive actionable insights and drive outcomes.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint and Word); advanced knowledge with Microsoft (Excel) required and SQL programming preferred; experience with SPSS preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge with developing research instruments including surveys and discussion guides required.

    Experience / Education: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field or equivalent education required.
    • Five or more years of research analysis at vendor/supplier client-side experience including applying statistical tools and techniques to analyze consumer and market research required.
