    *This position must be fulfilled in-house in our Greenville, South Carolina office location.  This position cannot be fulfilled remotely.


    Manages daily operations and subrogation team in ongoing handling of new and existing subrogation files. Monitors quality, completes reviews, and gives direction to bring subrogation claims to closure in an effective and timely manner.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Monitor's unit daily workflow to ensure balance and performance.
    • Direct and coach the subrogation staff in the ongoing handling of the subrogation file
    • Maintains on-going diary on claims requiring management involvement (SIU files, large losses, product liability).
    • Reviews and grants authority on all settlements in excess of the subrogation collectors authority, closure requests and arbitration referral requests
    • Completes periodic file reviews on each direct report to monitor quality and adherence to best practices
    • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates.
    • Participates in the establishment of department goals and for implementing procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; Manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of department staff directly.
    • Prepares reports and documentation concerning departmental activities.

    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with strong analytical and basic math skills.
    • Excellent customer service and solid negotiation skills.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
    • Demonstrated proficiency with internal Esurance Claims systems (XPM, Filehandler, and DocFinity) preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of subrogation claims (Medical Payments, PIP, Carrier, and Mini-Torts).

    Experience / Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or equivalent work experience required.
    • Five or more years of subrogation claims or arbitration file handling with three years direct supervisory experience required.


    Background Check / Licensing:

    As part of the hiring process at Esurance, a pre-employment background check for all new hires will be run which includes employment, education, and criminal verifications.  Additionally, for licensed positions you will be required to obtain and maintain licensure in one or more states which includes fingerprinting and an FBI check which will go back as far as your history allows.  Your ability to obtain and maintain employment will be contingent on your ability to be licensed in all required states.  Failure to obtain and maintain those licenses may affect your employment status.
