    Esurance Data Management team is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst with exceptional analytical skills and experience in Microsoft BI technologies; responsible for the development of reports and analytical applications that fulfill requirements for all business units.


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop new reports and dashboards per business requirements.
    • Perform systems analysis.
    • Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, recommend and implement process improvements, provide ad-hoc reports.
    • Generating on-demand reporting and analytics for business planning and reviews.
    • Improve performance and value of existing reports, as well as design, develop and support OLAP reporting tools and support production reporting processes.
    • Automation of manual reporting processes to enhance efficiency.
    • Develop, design and test complex program logic in order to produce analytical reports.
    • Maintain and enhance existing reports.
    • Maintain and enhance existing data warehouse environment (integrating new systems as required).
    • Work closely with the project managers in coordinating the implementation of projects.
    • Maintain proper documentation for projects and comply with Esurance’s audit requirements.



    • SQL knowledge (expert level).
    • Proven experience in BI technologies – SQL Server 2008 database, Oracle, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Excel.
    • Preferred Skills – Hadoop, MapReduce/Spark, Hive/Impala/Pig, Python/Java/Scala, RedShift/BigQuery or similar cloud DWH solution.
    • Experience Data warehouse design and database modeling.
    • Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
    • Experience in building dashboards in Tableau a plus.
    • Team Player but must be able to provide leadership.
    • Creative and effective in finding solutions.
    • Responsive to the requirements of the business.
    • Great communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong technical writing skills.
    • Strong analytical skills.

    Experience / Education:

    • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing.
    • Experience in the Insurance industry a plus.
    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline - Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics. o Certifications in Data Warehouse, Microsoft BI platform a plus.
