    The Claims Operations Assistant I provides administrative support for claims handling within Business Support Operations. The role is comprised of completing highly repeatable administrative task work related to the ongoing handling of claims, such as issuing payments to customers and vendors, sending letters and correspondence, processing mail and ordering supplies. Will need to have strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment to complete tasks in a timely manner to provide superior service to our internal and external customers.



    Job Responsibilities:

    • Complete routine tasks of low complexity including, but not limited to: copying, processing stop payment and payment void requests, issuing directed payments, processing batch (roll up) payments to vendors, running data reports, establishing e-sign transactions, completing vendor searches, transcription requests, and obtaining data from external resources
    • Limited customer and business contact, including sending correspondence regarding the status of claims in collections or subrogation and answering phones to assist with basic claims questions or routing call to the appropriate party; send correspondence to customers regarding status of claims in collections or subrogation
    • Document all completed work, including updates to task system, claim file notes, appraisal and salvage systems, claims diary or other tools used in the processing of claims
    • Assist with state reporting, acknowledgment letters and legal processing in accordance with compliance best practices
    • Process mail - including opening, sorting, and scanning inbound mail, faxes, and email; also includes printing and mailing locally printed mail
    • Assist facilities by ordering supplies, set up for meetings or visitors, or general office assistance


    • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks with accuracy; demonstrates ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers
    • Excellent customer service experience
    • Able to effectively communicate, both verbal and written
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Experience working in a collaborative team oriented environment


    Experience / Education:

    • High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred
    • One or more years of claims processing and/or administrative experience preferred
