    Responsibilities

    Provides support to the Product and Pricing team to ensure that the rating and product functionality is working as intended. Role is part of the Product and Actuarial job family.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Gives recommendations on rate accuracy after implementation of pricing changes in a given state
    • Analyzes the effectiveness of recent program changes through the creation of data calls, synthesizes the results, and reports to management on any findings
    • Prepares rate and rule filings for submission to the various Departments of Insurance; decides which exhibits and level of details to include in the submission
    • Maintains and improves management reports that keep track of actual results compared to business plan; provides recommendations based on results
    • Maintains and improves a rating engine that is able to accurately rate policies using updated rating factors after a rate change
    • Creates tools and reports that will support the actuarial team when performing rate segmentation analyses
    • Performs market based research and analyses; uses output to provide recommendations of rate changes to the product team
    • Develops a working knowledge of the countrywide rating algorithm and maintains documentation of the differences by state

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) or another similar programming language
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (preferably including VBA knowledge)

    Experience / Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, business, economic, any other related analytical field or equivalent education required
