    The Compliance Operations Manager provides oversight, management and guidance to ensure the company's insurance operations are conducted in compliance with ethical business practices, company policies and legal/regulatory requirements. Responsible for creating a compliance control testing and validation model for the internal review of rates, forms, underwriting, and claims. Manage and maintain a proactive compliance program to identify and resolve potential compliance exposures in order to enhance Esurance's reputation in the regulatory arena and minimize regulatory risk. 


    • Creates a compliance control testing and validation model for the internal review of rates, forms, underwriting, and claims with input from Legal and Compliance team members and operational business partners.
    • Develops and maintains a proactive compliance program with operational controls to identify and proactively resolve potential compliance exposures.
    • Manages audit program for post-release compliance verification/testing.
    • Assists with external market conduct audits as necessary.
    • Analyzes compliance risks and exposures both internal and external to Esurance and prioritize and develop an internal test plan to assess compliance risks on an annual basis.
    • Participates in weekly Defect Roundtable meetings to identify operational risks and exposures.
    • Implements and Chairs a Defect Task Force to help facilitate the bringing together of various Business Units with a goal of reducing the volume of defects, re-occurring defects, negative customer impact/experience related to defects, risk mitigation, etc.
    • Conducts root cause analysis of production live site issues to ensure proper controls are in place to mitigate risk.
    • Ensures customer and corporate compliance with state regulations, which includes analysis of information, coordination, and consultation with customers and internal departments.
    • Establishes departmental goals and implements procedures and performance standards to achieve these goals; manages, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the activities of assigned staff, if applicable.
    • Responsible for the employment, promotion, associate performance evaluation, training, motivation, counseling, and discipline of assigned associates, if applicable.
    • Prepares reports and documentation related to departmental activities.
    • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Public Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
    • 5 or more years of experience of regulatory compliance experience in an insurance company, which includes 3 or more years of experience managing the execution of compliance control testing and validation, or combination of education/experience required.
    • Associate in Regulatory Compliance (ARC), Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation preferred.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
    • Able to work effectively both independently, and within a collaborative team oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
    • Excellent leadership, project management and coaching skills.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to exercise diplomacy and discretion when needed.
    • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners and external vendors.
    • Able to design and deliver technical training programs to support staff.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of personal lines insurance industry, products and features.
    • Able to interpret regulations and analyze impact to business operations.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required.
    • Proficiency with Compliance Ware, INsource, ODEN, and/or other compliance related software preferred.
